Design of a one-room apartment of 36 sq. m. Kyiv, RC “Comfort Town”

The task of the Simpeks Design interior design studio

The Simpeks Design interior design studio was tasked with designing the interior of a one-room apartment with an area of 36 square meters located in the “Comfort Town” residential complex in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The owners of the apartment wanted to create a cozy, stylish and functional living space that would make the most of the limited space. They provided the interior designers with some key requirements and design elements they wanted incorporated into the layout and décor.

A smart kitchen in a blue apartment

One of the main requirements was to include a fully equipped smart kitchen. The designers chose light blue cabinetry and appliances to help make the small kitchen feel more spacious. A large island was included to provide extra counter and storage space. Touch screen appliances and wireless connectivity allow the homeowners to control lighting, temperature and other functions from their phones.

A gray tiled bathroom

In the bathroom, the designers opted for cool gray tiles on the walls and floor. The tiles help reflect light and create an airy feel. Storage was maximized with wall mounted cabinets and a combined tub/shower unit. Touchless fixtures keep the modern, high-tech aesthetic flowing throughout.

A comfortable blue sofa

The main living and sleeping area features a plush, L-shaped blue sofa. The sofa provides comfortable seating during the day and converts to a bed at night. Built-in storage beneath the cushions keeps the space tidy. A mounted TV and surround sound system bring entertainment to any part of the room.

Maximizing every square foot

Through clever use of multifunctional and space-saving furniture, the designers were able to incorporate all the requested elements while maintaining an open, uncluttered flow. Light colors, reflective surfaces and integrated lighting maximize the sense of space. Homeowners can now enjoy city living comforts in even the smallest of apartments thanks to Simpeks Design’s masterful planning and execution.
