Design of a 36 Square Meter One-Room Loft-Style Apartment

Project Overview

Simpeks Design took on the task of transforming a 36 square meter one-room apartment into an inspiring loft-style living space.

Design Concept

The goal was to incorporate loft-like elements that took advantage of the apartment’s volumetric space and industrial aesthetic. An exposed brick wall, overhead lighting, and open floor plan would bring the downtown loft vibe into the home.

Key Design Features

• An exposed brick wall feature behind the bed area for warmth and texture
• A kitchen-dining-living area as one unified loft-style space under overhead lighting
• A floating kitchen island/breakfast bar with barstool seating in lieu of a dividing wall
• Open shelving and storage to maintain the airy, unobstructed feel
• Pendant and track lighting above the dining area for a modern industrial touch
• Polished concrete flooring throughout for continuity
• Large windows along one wall to allow for natural light

Through smart design elements, Simpeks Design was able to transform the one-room apartment into an inspiring downtown loft living experience.
