Design of a three-room apartment of 125 m² in Kyiv for a family with a child
Deep shades, warm wood textures, and cozy lighting shape the character of this interior by SIMPEKS DESIGN. The design of a three-room apartment with an area of 125 m² in Kyiv was developed for a young couple with a daughter.
The project combines a space for family recreation, a parents’ bedroom, a children’s room for a girl, and two bathrooms. The main task is to create comfortable housing, where everyone has their own place, and common areas unite the family.
Apartment interior in dark shades
The color concept is based on a combination of gray-brown, graphite and warm wood tones. Light furniture, textiles and ceiling balance the rich palette, maintaining the visual lightness of the rooms.
Textured wall coverings add depth, and herringbone wood flooring creates a distinct rhythm. Dark metal details, understated furniture, and decorative lighting support the contemporary character of the interior.
The dark-toned design of the apartment is especially revealed through lighting. Warm light emphasizes textures and helps create a calm atmosphere in the evening.
Spacious living room with dining area
The living room has become the center of the family’s life together. A large, light sofa forms a comfortable area for relaxing, watching movies, and socializing. Its soft shapes contrast with the dark details and rich shades of the decoration.
Nearby is a wooden dining table with soft chairs. It is convenient to gather for a family dinner or receive guests. Open shelving complements the interior with a place for books, plants and your favorite decor.
A composition of pendant lights at different heights accentuates the dining area. Floor lamps near the sofa provide soft local light, and light tulle and thick curtains allow you to change the lighting throughout the day.
Parents’ bedroom in gray-brown tones
The bedroom design continues the overall palette of the apartment. Textured walls, wood-patterned furniture, and understated decor create a cozy space for renewal.
The central element of the room is a bed with a wide, soft headboard. Light bedding and decorative pillows soften the dark background. Bedside tables and a chest of drawers provide storage for everyday items.
Wall lamps with lampshades and additional reading lamps allow for individual lighting. An abstract painting above the chest of drawers adds a graphic accent and completes the composition.
Children’s room for a girl
The daughter’s room has its own color character: muted pink and plum shades are combined with beige furniture and light textiles. This palette supports the overall mood of the apartment and at the same time makes the children’s space special.
A bed with a soft back and a lower drawer combines a place to sleep and extra storage. A comfortable armchair and floor lamp create a corner for reading and relaxing. A soft rug adds coziness and highlights this part of the room.
Illustrations with favorite characters, pillows and toys fill the interior with individuality. The design of a children’s room for a girl leaves the opportunity to change the decor according to her age and hobbies.
Two bathrooms for family comfort
The apartment has two bathrooms – a practical solution for a family with a child. They make it easier to organize morning meetings and provide additional comfort when receiving guests.
When designing an apartment, it’s important to coordinate the placement of plumbing, lighting, and storage. It’s these everyday details that make a home comfortable for all family members.
