Design of a one-room apartment for a couple with redevelopment
A one-room apartment can accommodate much more than it seems at first glance. In this SIMPEKS DESIGN project, thanks to the redevelopment, we provided a dressing room in the bedroom, arranged a work area instead of a windowsill, and combined the kitchen with a comfortable place for joint recreation.
The interior is based on muted green tones, warm wood textures, and light surfaces with a marble pattern. Black details add expressiveness, while soft lighting emphasizes the textures and creates a cozy atmosphere.
Redevelopment of a one-room apartment: space for living together
The main task of the project was to adapt the apartment to the needs of the couple. It was important to provide a place for sleeping, working, storing personal belongings, and spending time together.
Redesigning a one-room apartment allowed us to allocate a dressing room in the bedroom and organize the living space more conveniently. Instead of the usual windowsill, a worktop appeared, and the kitchen got its own relaxation area with a sofa. Each solution performs a specific function and maintains the integrity of the interior.
Kitchen design in green tones with a sofa
The kitchen in olive tones is the main color accent of the apartment. Laconic facades to the ceiling form a spacious storage system, and a light apron with a marble pattern balances the rich shade of the furniture.
A dining peninsula with high, upholstered chairs separates the kitchen’s working area from the seating area. It’s a convenient place for breakfasts for two, evening conversations, or coffee during the day. Black pendant lights above the countertop support the graphic accents of appliances and furniture fittings.
Nearby is a compact sofa with decorative pillows and a small table. A textured light wall, open shelves with wooden trim and warm lighting add home comfort. This design of a kitchen with a sofa allows you to combine cooking and relaxing together in one space.
Bedroom with dressing room
One of the key results of the remodel was the walk-in closet in the bedroom. It helps organize both owners’ clothes, shoes, and accessories in a separate area.
The dressing room is separated by a partition with horizontal slats in a dark frame. It creates a distinct architectural accent, while maintaining a visual connection between the zones. The wood textures inside the dressing room support the warm palette of the apartment.
The bedroom design is complemented by a soft headboard, calm natural shades and local lighting. The combination of a sleeping area and thoughtful storage makes the room convenient for everyday use.
Work area by the window instead of a windowsill
We used the space by the window for our home workspace. Instead of a standard windowsill, we provided a tabletop on which you can place a laptop, a desk lamp, and the necessary accessories.
The work area in the bedroom receives natural daylight, and a roller blind allows you to adjust its intensity. Nearby is a tall wardrobe, complementing the storage system.
This solution allows you to set up a home office in a one-room apartment without a separate office. The tabletop fits organically into the furniture composition and leaves the central part of the room free.
Spacious closet in the hallway
The hallway features a large built-in wardrobe to the ceiling. Light gray-beige facades create a calm background, and long black handles emphasize the vertical lines of the furniture.
The composition integrates an open niche with hooks, a soft seat and a lower drawer. The wooden finish and lighting make this part of the hallway cozy and comfortable: here you can leave your outerwear and comfortably change your shoes.
Well-thought-out storage systems in the apartment help maintain order and maintain the visual lightness of living rooms.
Bright bathroom with shower and space for appliances
The bathroom design continues the overall interior concept. Light cladding with a marble pattern and warm veins is combined with furniture with a wooden texture.
The wall-mounted vanity unit with washbasin has closed compartments and open shelves for towels and toiletries. The illuminated mirror is complemented by a hanging module for storing everyday items.
The glass shower cabin maintains the visual openness of the room. The washing machine and dryer are located in a column – this allows you to use the height of the bathroom and compactly organize the living area.
