Design of a one-room apartment in the Crystal Springs residential complex for a couple
How to create a comfortable space for two in a one-room apartment? In the SIMPEKS DESIGN project for a couple in the Crystal Springs residential complex in Kyiv, we combined modern style, calm natural shades, and functional solutions. The interior is built around the owners’ daily needs: convenient cooking, shared relaxation, and organized storage of things.
Light facades, gray-beige tones, wood textures, and graphic black accents create a holistic design of the apartment. Laconic furniture and thoughtful lighting help maintain a sense of space without unnecessary decorative details.
Corner kitchen: spaciousness and convenience
The design of the kitchen in a one-room apartment involves the rational use of each area. The angular arrangement of the furniture allows you to form a convenient work surface and place the necessary storage systems.
The ceiling-high cabinets use the height of the room and give the kitchen a finished look. Light and gray-beige facades without protruding handles emphasize the modern style of the interior. The dark countertop and apron with a stone pattern add depth, and the black built-in appliances support contrasting accents.
Lighting the work area makes cooking more comfortable. Open shelves with a wood texture and decorative objects soften the strict geometry of the kitchen composition.
Kitchen with seating area for two
Next to the kitchen, there is a cozy area with a soft sofa and a compact table. Here you can relax, drink coffee, or spend an evening together.
Light upholstery, decorative pillows, plants and a painting with a botanical motif create a homely atmosphere. Light tulle lets in daylight, while thick curtains add privacy.
This zoning of a one-room apartment allows you to combine several functions in one room. A single palette and repetition of materials visually unite the kitchen and the relaxation area.
Hallway design with a spacious closet
For a married couple, it is important to provide enough space for both owners’ belongings. The hallway has a built-in ceiling-level wardrobe with laconic light facades and long black handles.
Closed storage helps keep things organized and reduces visual clutter. At the entrance, there are hooks for outerwear, a soft pouf, and a hanging console for small items. Each element makes daily gatherings and returning home more convenient.
The wood-patterned floor covering supports the overall concept of the apartment’s modern interior.
Bathroom design with stone textures
The bathroom is decorated in rich shades of gray. The cladding with an expressive stone pattern creates a textured background for the laconic furniture and plumbing.
The wall-mounted vanity unit with washbasin combines pull-out drawers and open shelves for towels and toiletries. An oval mirror with lighting softens the straight lines of the interior, and vertical pendant lights accentuate the washing area.
A glass shower screen maintains the visual openness of the space. The combination of stone and wood textures makes the design of a small bathroom expressive and cozy.
Modern design of a one-room apartment for a couple
Comfortable living for two starts with attention to each person’s habits. In this project, the main solutions were spacious furniture up to the ceiling, a functional corner kitchen, a separate seating area, and thoughtful storage in the hallway and bathroom.
The design of a one-room apartment in the Crystal Springs Residential Complex demonstrates how a restrained palette, coordinated materials, and attention to detail help create a harmonious space for living together.
