Coffee island design in a shopping mall in Warsaw
A compact coffee shop with a distinct character and a convenient work organization is the concept of this project by SIMPEKS DESIGN for a shopping mall in Warsaw, Poland. The design of the coffee island combines graphite surfaces, warm wood textures and soft lighting.
The open layout allows visitors to immediately see the assortment of desserts and the coffee preparation process. The equipment, display case, and service area are assembled into a single system, where each element has its place.
Graphite shades and wood textures
The coffee island design is built on the contrast of dark countertops and facades with a wood pattern. Graphite elements emphasize the geometry of the counter, and warm shades of wood add comfort.
Horizontal slats on the front create rhythm and visually unify the composition. The back panel with open shelves supports the overall style and forms a background for the coffee equipment.
This island-style coffee shop design makes a small retail outlet expressive while maintaining a concise design.
Functional planning of a coffee shop
The design includes separate areas for preparing drinks, paying customers, and displaying desserts. The coffee machine is located in the central part of the work area, next to which is a coffee grinder and necessary accessories.
The sink is integrated into the side worktop. Syrups and drink accessories are grouped together, and closed furniture modules under the worktop provide storage space.
Thoughtful placement of equipment helps organize the barista’s work and maintain order in the compact space of the coffee island in the shopping mall.
Glass display case for desserts
The display case is placed at the front of the counter so that the visitor can examine the desserts before ordering. Transparent surfaces provide a view of the products and maintain the visual lightness of the design.
The checkout area is located next to the display case, creating a clear sequence of selection and ordering. Open shelves at the back complement the presentation of the assortment and allow for the placement of packaged coffee.
Lighting as part of design
Warm linear lighting under the countertop accentuates the wooden facades and emphasizes the contours of the counter. Shelf lighting adds depth to the back panel and highlights the products.
